Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park – Angata Kiti Plains – Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
Starting November the great herds come down to Central Serengeti, most of the females are pregnant by this time of the year. They slowly start to move South wards to the short grass plains. The short grass plains in in the south is rich in calcium and iron.
Just like us humans need calcium and iron for our babies this is the same with the wildebeests and other animals as well.
Some females will start giving birth as early as December. Come mid-February an average of 8000 calves are born per day all the way to mid-March, this season is called the Calving Season.
During this time of the year almost all the plains game give birth as food is in plenty for all. All depends on the short rains that starts in Mid-November, mid-December. Making the grass lush and green
